Science Is Broken

This web site describes the state of decay in science—what happened, how it happened and why it happened with specific examples and explanations of background science. Such a degree of criticism is only possible from a position which is not dependent upon the power structure, as serious criticism is not tolerated in any power structure particularly when unaccountability is as thorough as in science. There are a small number of such critics, usually retired scientists who are no longer under the gun. There are also small bits of serious criticism within science, where the width does not overlap one's own domain. Adding those small bits up produces a broad picture portraying the problem exactly as I describe it. Serious criticism is always universal, since there is only one truth, and criticism is irrelevant without truth.

My evaluation stems from significant experience within the university system and later as an independent mushroom researcher. I have a broad background, starting college in agriculture, switching majors to microbiology as an undergraduate, getting a masters degree at the University of Arizona and studying for a year at Davis, California before being forced out by mental pain which occurs in distracting environments. Publishing my masters research on yeast physiology and attempting to publish mushroom research created enough contact with the publishing arm of science to get a suitable perspective on it.

But the worth of anything depends upon the standards of rationality and adequacy of the attempt. The standards vary widely from person to person. My standards are to define and explain relevant specifics. There is a process to rationality. You search and discover followed by refinement, correction and improvement creating an evolved result. An evolved result is too lacking everywhere. The first whim tends to be the last thought on a subject. There is a shunning of evolved effort in society, because it places demands upon standards. The consequence is superficiality, and with it is a large amount of basic error.

As the subject of global warming acquired a major social significance, my evaluations and criticisms became more detailed and complex. The number one problem with the whole global warming hoax is that every element of it is in conflict with basic scientific knowledge. So I explain the basic science of the subject. Science begins with pre-existing knowledge. There has been a lot of knowledge acquired by science over the past five hundred years. To ignore it and contradict it, as occurs with the subject of global warming, is a fraud upon the public.
