Gary Novak Basic Reality |
Proper Standards of Criticism
One of the most noticeable results of global warming is that it is hyped through debased standards of communication. All of the claims by alarmists, 100% of them, are found to be untrue upon correct analysis; but fraudulent communication shields the truth from the public. Most significantly, sources of authority or power, including the media, impose the claims onto the public and shield the truth from criticism by persons who could correct the errors. At another level, particularly where bloggers operate, and which now can overwhelm traditional sources of reality, the usual standard in promoting the global warming agenda is personal attack with contempt for objective truth. Persons who operate at the level of personal attack accuse others of what they are guilty of. It's a defense mechanism based upon the slogan that "the best defense is a good offense." At that level, there is no concept of right-from-wrong in communication and criticism. What works best for corrupters is overwhelming force. Conspiracy is the best source of overwhelming force. Corrupters link together to overwhelm, not only their victims but the truth of a subject such as global warming. They call the conspiracy "consensus," which it is not. The Bible uses the terms conspiracy and sin interchangeably, because it takes power to overwhelm others with sin, and conspiracy is the universal source of power for imposing sin onto others. People have a right to objectivity in social interactions including communications. Subjectivity needs to be relegated to areas where it is accepted. Objectivity means the source is in the universal realities which lie outside one's own mind. The proper definition of objective is, "that which originates outside the person's mind." The proper definition of subjective is, "that which originates within the person's mind." The most basic rule for proper criticism, or social discourse, is that it must remain objective. A lot of requirements follow. The first requirement is that there needs to be an objective significance or reason for saying so. It might not be anyone else's business. This means that attacking and degrading someone to distract from the truth is not valid. It does not relate to a valid social purpose. The second most important requirement is that there must be explanations including related evidence. Explanations must show how the concern fits into surrounding objective realities, and evidence shows the correctness of claims. Making claims is often attacked as being subjective and invalid. Claims are not subjective. They are implicit in all criticism. A claim is a starting point for showing the nature of a concern. Another error is to assume, or claim, that a person must prove first and argue later. There is no such thing as proof, in a technical sense. If someone will not accept the obvious as fact, no one can force him to. Proof, as a figure of speech, is what a rational person would be expected to accept. It is invariable with invalid criticism that specifics are avoided. Claims will be made with no explanations. There is no way to correct the errors without specific explanations. When someone makes a disputable claim, they need to provide enough explanation to determine through independent evaluation what the truth is. Without specifics, no correcting is possible. Corrupters intend to block verification by omitting the necessary specifics. Being successful at obstructing the use of rationality to produce truth seems like a victory to corrupters, but it is nothing but a destructive railroad job. And that is where the personal attacks get valid, necessary and objective. When corrupters use invalid methods of creating a problem, no further progress can be made without taking up their standard. Their standard becomes an objective concern when it cannot be corrected without criticism of it. When someone is perpetrating a fraud, they insulate themselves from criticism or correction. They have to be called the frauds that they are. Fraud is an objectively definable problem. Addendum Since Al Gore is the public representation of the global warming hype, I think it would be only fair to say I don't think he is operating at the debased standards that many of the others are. Politicians have difficulty determining what objective reality is. All persons with power have this problem, but politicians more so, because they are surrounded by persons who want to influence them. How much truth is there in the attempts to influence? Then there is the problem that science is a trap for the unwary, because you can find anything you want within it, and there is a scientist who will promote any viewpoint. So Al Gore got propagandized on global warming before he could get a proper perspective on the subject, and he hasn't been able to find his way out of the trap since. Al Gore's approach of presenting arguments is a valid way to approach a subject, even if he is wrong about the evidence. It is not valid to force the result onto kids in the schools as if it were unquestionable fact. It is also not valid for Supreme Court justices to trump science criticism by forcing society to operate by the fraudulent claim that global warming hype is true. |
