Some Junk Science Contradicting the El Nino Effect.

I often say that oceans regulate CO2 in the atmosphere to the minutest detail, as indicated by an El Nino in the Pacific Ocean, which causes CO2 measurements in the air to increase, and then they renormalize when the El Nino disappears.

The increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere during an El Nino show up in direct measurements of atmospheric CO2 levels. So, true to form, propagandists had to conduct a study showing the opposite. Such rationalistic studies attempting to justify motives are nothing but junk science.

A group of NOAA scientists studied a small effect and then generalize it to contradict direct measurements of total CO2 in the atmosphere. Generalizing the small effect is misrepresentation. They did not conduct the type of study which would show broad and general effects, yet they applied it to broad conclusions, in spite of contradictions with direct measurements of total CO2 in the atmosphere.

The study measured ocean upwelling where an El Nino occurs in the Pacific and found that the upwelling stops during an El Nino. The upwelling causes deep ocean water to carry more CO2 to the surface. So when it stops during an El Nino, less CO2 is brought to the surface, and consequently, less escapes into the atmosphere.

In reality, their results show the opposite of their claim. If less CO2 is being released in a localized area, and total measurements still show an increase, then the amount being released due to warmer ocean temperature is even more significant, not less. In other words, the regulating effect of oceans overrides the localized effect which was studied by the NOAA group.

The write-up by NOAA is propaganda and misrepresentation typical of the junk science that is overwhelming many areas of science. In the area of prions, there are hundreds of such junk science studies, where the standards of study are so low that the results have no real meaning; and then monumental conclusions are based on the meaningless results. Always, the junk science is said to be the final nail in the coffin of critics.
