Bigotry is a subconscious force which says power is virtue, and powerlessness is sin, as described on other pages.

All subconscious corruptions seem right to persons who harbor them, because positive reinforcements create the impression of something good. Then the afflicted persons must rationalize the result in their own minds. With bigotry, the rationalizations are so convincing that they reinforce the corruption.

What bigots tell themselves is that power is the answer to all problems; and therefore, sin is irrelevant. And since power cannot be used without sin, there is assumed to be something noble and necessary about using sin to advance power. This assumption is the primary ingredient of Nazism. With that mentality, morality supposedly does not work, and the only responsible thing to do is to sin for the good of all, which means getting rid of the dregs who hold down everyone else.

Subservience to power reinforces bigotry by promoting the assumption that powerless persons are an obstacle to the use of power. The answer is assumed to be to get rid of powerless persons, who are assumed to be the cause of all problems.

The hinge point is the assumption that power is the answer to everything. What if power is not the answer to everything? Then sin is relevant. The only real way constructivity works is through rationality aligned upon objective reality. Morality is doing that.

What this means is that the problems which people have are highly dependent upon a bunch of fools trying to use power in place of constructivity as the answer to problems. How do you convince them that power destroys life? You could use satan as an example of power that destroys. But the fools see only superficial evidence of satan or his work and are impressed by it instead of afraid of it. Some of the more atheistic types don't even believe satan exists.

There is no easy way to convince fools that power and sin are not solving their problems. This is one of the main reasons why poverty saves, while power corrupts. Powerless persons are victimized by power mongers and see what the truth is about power and sin.
