Comparative Christianity

Christians have not correctly evaluated their own religion. They omitted too much. By focusing on God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, they drifted into vagaries and away from the purposes which Christ taught.

Christ corrected errors which humans were not aware of and which show up in all of their religions including organized Christianity. Most basically, Christ describe the purpose of human life. He said human life should be a path which overcomes sin and replaces it with eternal life (Mat 7:14). That path is not recognized in other religions.

It is informative that people who have "near death experiences" are sent back into the human society to accomplish something. There is never a clarification of what should be accomplished in human life. But the fact that something is supposed to be accomplished is part of the unique message which Christ taught.

The simplest way to say it is that material life was created for the purpose of overcoming sin. The universe cycles between sin being overcome in material life and sin redeveloping in the spirit world. When sin is overcome, material life is abandoned, since it is very problematic, and it is a source of corruptible power which satan exploits too easily. But in the spirit world, people eventually forget what sin is, and it redevelops in their subconscious minds. So the cycles never end.

Christ taught how to use human life most effectively to overcome sin. Even without religion and conscious awareness of the result, human life causes moral standards to improve through increased awareness and need for constructivity and solving problems. But the results should not be haphazard, because there are also corruptive influences in the use of power and the effects of evil. So it is important to learn the path of constructivity as Christ taught it.

Few people find the path of constructivity in Christianity or anyplace else. Other religions do not teach it. This is the most important difference between Christianity and other religions. Worshipping God could mean anything, since people cannot know God's characteristics without moral awareness. It is the path to life which defines the important message of Christ's.

It is true that one finds trite moral advice everywhere including all religions. But moralizing is not the same thing as the path which Christ describe. Cheap moralizing is often counter-productive, because it is not effective enough. Only Christ produced the information needed to go beyond the ineffective slogans to an effective path for replacing sin with eternal life.
