The Dichotomy of Christianity

In politics, there is a natural dichotomy between liberals and conservatives. In religion, it is slightly different. It is between the nobodies and conservatives.

Let's start with conservatives, which are the same group in religion and politics. Conservatives promote elitism and domination. They are therefore defined and controlled by power mongers. Since power is the positive reinforcement for the psychological conditioning of sin, it creates a driving force for corruption.

Conservatives synthesized a version of religion and theology to rationalize and promote their power mongering. The key word for describing their version of Christianity is "faith." It is not correct faith. Since faith is such an esoteric concept, it was readily corrupted for the purpose of promoting power mongering.

The exploited version of faith promotes elitism and domination. The persons who are "holier than thou" are supposedly selected by God, and they supposedly do the infallible work of the Holy Spirit.

So the concept of faith needs to be corrected (see page on faith). Faith is not promoting gimmickry in religion. Faith is basing judgment upon objective reality. It is directed toward God when God is expected to be doing constructive things through objective reality.

Instead, conservatives assume God is so mighty that he can defy objective reality. Elites are above the mundane level of being logical. They assume common sense is for fools, because it separates people from God.

The alternative is to not monger power. Servant is the key word which Christ used. Subservience is the opposite of mongering power. And it is the expression of the "golden rule" which summarizes the law and the prophets—Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mat 7:12). And it is the expression of faith—expecting good to come out of the betterment of other persons.

The political dichotomy results from power mongering (called conservatism) creating a reaction (called liberalism) in the dominated victims. The label "conservative" is as meaningless as the theology called faith. Historically, the ruling class opposed change, which evolved into the concept of conservatism.

Liberalism is relevant politically, because bleeding hearts can produce a small amount of social change; but it is not relevant in religion, because it is not as direct and personal as morality.
