Repentance was Removed from Fundamentalism

Fundamentalists justify sin instead of overcome it. Justifying sin is not repentance. So they contrive a theology which removes repentance from their version of religion.

One element of their contrived theology is to claim that people cannot save themselves, and therefore there is no need to overcome sin. That logic would not pass a fraud test for preschoolers. Humans can't do anything by themselves, and they still have a lot of social responsibilities. It's like saying people cannot feed themselves, therefore there is no need to eat. People Cannot create their own banking system, therefore they have no need to use money.

Christ said, "unless people change and become like little children, they will not get saved" (Mat 18:3). Changing means repentance.

Fundamentalists claim they get saved by being born again, which is an experience which they had earlier in life. Being born again is described as a life changing experience, where Christ and the Holy Spirit enter their lives. But it does not end their sin. They say they are sometimes moral, just because they want to be, not because it is necessary for getting saved. And since it is not a requirement, they still do a lot of sinning.

Whether repentance is required or not, moral persons do not rationalize or promote sin. A person who rationalizes or promotes bigotry, elitism, domination or nihilism has to do some changing before they can coexist with the moral world.

Moral persons do not promote those corruptions. There are humans who do not promote those corruptions. There is a moral world which feels threatened by the promotion of those corruptions.

The theology of Fundamentalism is threatening to the moral world and life because of its rationalization of corruption and the visible promotion of corruption by Fundamentalists. Not only do fundamentalists visibly promote bigotry, elitism, domination and nihilism, they refuse to be corrected. Instead of being corrected, they fall back on the false theology of Fundamentalism which rationalizes corruption by claiming people cannot save themselves, sin cannot be overcome and overcoming sin is not necessary for getting saved.
