Reality Based Religion
God created material life as a source of objective reality as the basis of his religion. Everyone else tries to contrive religion apart from objective reality, because sin creates a conflict with objective reality and separates people from it.
Isn't it logical that if separation from objective reality is the problem then contact with objective reality is the answer. Material life is God's most basic (though temporary) religion, at least while sin is being overcome.
The purpose of material life is to overcome sin. After sin is overcome, material life is abandoned, as the "lion eats straw like the ox" (in heaven) (Isaiah 11:7).
Look high and low through all religions, and you almost always find an attempt to separate from objective reality. Meditation and spirituality attempt to escape from material concerns, which is a separation from objective reality. Atonement and ritualistic Christianity attempt to reduce religion to mysterious forces in defiance of objective reality. The ancient ritual of sacrifice created by the demons had the purpose of getting favoritism from the demons to win wars, get protection from volcanoes, or make the corn grow, which is separation from objective reality.
Christ taught none of that. He taught the path to life in terms of objective reality. He said the golden ruledo unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mat 7:12)was a summary of "the law and the prophets." Then he said on judgment day the saved would be separated from the unsaved on the basis of good deeds, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc. (Mat 25:31-46). This means objective reality, not mysterious forces beyond comprehension.
In other words, while all religions are almost always described in terms of mysterious forces which separate people from objective reality, the religion of the creator is the oppositeit is contact with objective reality.
Truth is contact with objective reality. Christ said his entire purpose in appearing was to "testify to the truth" (John 18:37). Technically, truth is the communicated representation of unified reality. Communicating unified reality is contact with objective reality.
Most religions recognize the importance of truth, but they are clueless on how to use it to save their souls. How do you acquire it, and what do you use it for? Christ answered these questions in teaching the path to life.
The path to life is to learn constructivity, which is to unlearn sin. Sin is anything which destroys life. Learning constructivity requires simplification of the subject. Otherwise, the complexities and forces throw a person off the path. Simplification means helping the needy solve their problems. But what the needy need more than anything is truth. They can solve their own problems if allowed to, but injustices prevent them from living. Truth ends the injustices, because sin cannot exist in the light of truth.
So a person determines what truth to produce by attempting to help the needy. Seeking and finding truth and knowledge in order to solve problems is the most important thing people can do.
