Rapture is a Fundamentalist Sham
Fundamentalists have been hyping the concept of rapture claiming that they are going to be taken up into heaven at any unexpected time, and then everyone else will suffer extreme human misery.
Regardless of whether there ever will be such a rapture, fundamentalists are too depraved to qualify. They live for their own elitism and selfishness and turn Christ's teaching upside down in a war against the lower classes.
Christ said the ones who enter heaven are those who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, healed the sick, etc. (Mat 25:31-46). Such worthy persons are obviously not the fundamentalists.
Here's my impression of how events will occur around the apocalypse. There is no rapture. The parable of the wheat and tares (Mat 13:24-43) says the weeds are first gathered and burned, and then the wheat is stored in God's granary. It means no one enters heaven until after the destroyers enter hell.
Before the apocalypse, there is a general collapse of the social order including economic problems, disease, wars and rumors of wars and earth quakes and volcanoes (beyond the ordinary). Then the apocalypse begins with a nuclear war, which destroys one third of the planet. Then there is a three and one half year period of turmoil including persecution of believers, followed by a three and one half year period of hailstones falling from the sky, which probably results from Jupiter exploding.
After the plague of hailstones, there is very little left of human life. A thousand years are required for significant human life to be reestablished. When human life is reestablished, Christ is in control of it; but satan and crew fight a war against the society which Christ controls. This involves the fragmentation of the human society into two camps. After Christ's group and satan's group fight for some time, fire comes down from heaven and destroys them all. The absence of material life leaves the destroyers with nothing but the abyss which they created for themselves; while the saved world develops a nonmaterial state of existence.
Notice in this chain of events that the moral world cannot get separated from satan's destroyers until all material life is destroyed. But material life cannot be allowed to be totally destroyed while it is being used to teach morality to the saved world. Material life is needed to teach morality, because stabilized realities must exist as a reference for the objective basis of life and the moral laws which govern it.
