Trusting in God
Religion is being used to rationalize sin instead of overcome it. The number one mechanism is to trust in God. This means God fixes the problems, while believers create them. The "golden rule" says to do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Mat 7:12). There is an underlying assumption of justice which indicates that people define what should be done to them by what they do to others. Or conversely, what people demand for themselves is their concept of justice, which should be applied to others. When people spend trillions of dollars on military force, they are not trusting their fate to God. Christ said, "he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword" (Mat 26:52). A lot of uninvolved people have their lives and property destroyed, and they are called "collateral damage". That's playing God over other peoples' lives. It's possible to define right-from-wrong on any subject based on Christ's teaching, particularly since he taught the lessons of life which are easily viewed by everyone. It's important to apply that information to the concept of trust, or faith, because the most simplistic bypass for morality is to shun human responsibilities as trust in God or faith. What then is the difference between human responsibilities and trust in God? The usual way of explaining this subject is to say humans must do whatever they can, and God will do the rest. But responsibilities go much farther than that. Again, it's important to compare the standards for self and for others. People spend a lot of money solving their own problems while allowing others to pay a price for the result. There is a responsibility to not be dumping problems onto others. When the affluent world fishes the oceans bare, they switch to eating something else, while people in the third world starve for lack of alternatives. The responsibility for caring for the oceans was not met. Are the starving people supposed to trust in God, while the affluent world eats their food? What then is the nature of human responsibilities? Christ described and demonstrated in his life the basics of human responsibilities. Not only was he crucified for it, the so-called believers shamelessly replaced his teaching with the mockeries of a murderer, who contracted everything he taught. Paul said people are saved by faith and not works. So the followers of Paul claim that doing as Christ commanded is just an option which has nothing to do with getting saved. Does taking from the needy have nothing to do with getting saved? Christ said, "make friends with this world's use of goods, so when they fail, you have friends in heaven" (Mat 19:21)(Luke 16:9). The starving Africans will be real forgiving when the affluent world gets to heaven, but only if the sin is ended. Are people going to end sin after they get to heaven? It's not possible. The only purpose of material life is to end sin, because it cannot be done in the spirit world. People who think they are going to sin their way into heaven aren't going to get there until they overcome the sin first. Murdering the messengers does not change the truth. |
