Winning is the Wrong Purpose, Motives, Attitudes, Values and Standards. What can be won? Status, power, image and money. What can be lost? Wrong question. The question here is, what do you lose while winning, not what do you lose if you are not winning. The second question can be take up elsewhere, but the first question is always ignored by winners, and it destroys them. What goes with winning is loss of self-respect. Winners sell their self-worth. There isn't anything else that can be traded, because the process of winning destroys self-worth. That's because there must always be victims. Winning is a relationship to others. Others lose, or a winner doesn't win. Rationalizers might want to define winner in other terms, but that's not how it is done in the real world. The purpose and result of winning in the world is to create losers. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the same purposes, motives, attitudes, values and standards; and the result would be called losing. Winners consider Christ to have been a loser, because he had the other purposes, motives, attitudes, values and standards and taught them. Winners create losers, and that's not a respectable thing to do. They deny it, claiming their result is benevolent and good for everyone. An example is Reagan's claim that if the rich are made richer, all of the boats will rise. Since the boats sank deeper, he can say it was someone else's fault. So there is a conflict of philosophies involved. It's the difference between the path to life which Christ taught and the way satan runs the world. |
