Trapping Heat
Greenhouse gasses cannot trap more heat, because they already trap all they can. Up in the stratosphere and higher, they can trap a slight amount more, but the stratosphere does not influence the lower atmosphere; and the quantities are miniscule beyond relevance. Carbon dioxide absorbs infrared radiation in three narrow bands of 2.7, 4.3 and 15 microns of wavelength. At ground level, CO2 absorbs all radiation available to it at the 15 micron band in ten meters (Heinz Hug). At the top of the troposphere, the atmospheric pressure is about 1/5 that of sea level. That means radiation will travel 5 times as far before being completely absorbed, which means 50 meters for CO2. So radiation is not escaping into space from the top of the troposphere without being absorbed by CO2 at the 15 micron wavelength. How then can more CO2 increase temperatures in the lower atmosphere? It can't. There is no real mechanism for carbon dioxide causing global warming. Fake scientists claim radiation must leave at 5 km height, where the temperature is -19°C in order to get 235 watts per square meter to exit, which is the amount acquired from the sun. So they claim global warming occurs at 5 km of height. But at 5 km, atmospheric pressure is about half that at sea level. At that height, radiation travels about 20 meters for absorption by CO2. In other words, the fakes are applying an equation (the Stephan-Boltzmann constant) to determine where radiation leaves the earth while ignoring all related science which shows no global warming is occurring there due to CO2. They learn that standard in physics, where equations are allowed to defy all logic. It's a method of mongering power, not a method of producing scientific truth. The Stephan-Boltzmann constant cannot be used to determine a height and temperature for radiation into space, because it obviously contradicts all surrounding realities which show that the radiation gets re-absorbed and re-emitted many times from that location. It would appear from this that the Stephan-Boltzmann constant cannot be applied to gasses at all. Logic indicates that radiation leaving the three dimensional surface of a gas is not going to have the same temperature characteristics as radiation leaving the surface of a solid.
