Propaganda is crossing out truth and reconstructing a different version of reality. Making it work requires a lot of trickery, which is the telltale sign of propaganda. There has to be a reason for doing it, which is called a motive.

Persons who agree with the motive feel that the result is justifiable regardless of the dishonesty. In fact, carried to an extreme, corruption for a noble purpose is one of the most basic elements of Nazism. So obviously, propaganda is highly visible in Nazism.

The dishonesty of propaganda includes fraud. Why do people have to be lied to? Does someone have a right to force something onto others which they would not willingly accept? Propagandists assume so. They assume they are of a higher wisdom and must therefore prevail against lesser persons for their own good. Evaluating the erroneous wisdom is necessary for getting propaganda into a proper perspective.

The number one element of propaganda is missing reality. Concealing is the difference between being lied to through the sophisticated means of propaganda and being informed of truth.

What people do not see in propaganda is the evidence. The most significant evidence is in the logic. To see it requires openness in discussing it, which is rationality.

In place of rationality, propaganda relies heavily upon stimulus-response reactions. Wave symbols such as flags, show women's bodies, invoke fear of the enemy, flash wealth and technology—regardless of the subject matter. The bad guys are in dark vehicles, speeding, producing pollution and wasting resources. The good guys are in white vehicles, leisurely meandering through a park, with birds singing and flowers blooming. This is what replaces rational analysis. A negativist degrades the good guys. Why is it not negativism to degrade the bad guys?

Constructivity does not exist without the open and accountable logic which is required to produce objective reality or truth. Open and accountable logic shapes realities within the mind the way they are shaped in objective reality. (Objective means that which exists outside the mind; subjective, within the mind.) In other words, without open and accountable logic, minds get screwed up.

One of the pretenses of propagandists is that they can get a better result through dishonest means. Being phonies, the better result includes anything that comes up including a better truth. It's not possible to improve realities through concealment and deception. If reality is not derived through objectively described evidence, then it does not function properly in minds. It would do no good to know that one and one equals two, if you didn't know what one and two are. Open and accountable logic not only shows that something is true, it shows how truth fits into the complex pattern of all other realities.

There is a process required for sustaining ordered complexities. Propaganda is a different process. It isn't a different conclusion or a different end point; it is a different process for getting to the end point.

The process which sustains ordered complexities, by aligning minds upon the complex, objective realities, is open and accountable logic. The process which produces propaganda is concealment, mystery, manipulation and dogmatic imposition, usually based on authority.

The first process is valid, because it sustains ordered complexities. The second process is not valid, because it destroys ordered complexities.

Notice that validity is an objectively definable thing. It is what people demand most of the time, particularly for themselves. People demand that the ordered complexities of their lives be sustained. Destruction of ordered complexities would theoretically be valid, if it were what people normally did for some valid reason. But it never happens, because life is made up of ordered complexities and cannot be sustained without the processes which sustain ordered complexities.

The IPCC reports on global warming and Al Gore's movie are propaganda because of missing reality. The IPCC reports do not present evidence, they just muddle the subject, so authority can prevail without criticism. Al Gore's movie does not explain the science of the points which are made. Supposedly, some scientist has it figured out. That standard doesn't allow the viewer to determine the validity of the claims; it allows frauds to railroad the subject.

Such propaganda is not as cute as society pretends it to be. It's how Nazism was railroaded onto the Germans. It's no less destructive to railroad a war against the lower classes onto the American public through the carbon dioxide fraud. The carbon dioxide fraud is no more real than creating the Aryan race.
